vamp is an experimental, MIT-licensed visual media protocol for humans and agents. It gives tools a shared catalogue of assets, revisions, events and observations without moving or rewriting the original media.
The name comes from jazz: a vamp is a short repeating figure that holds the ground while different players enter and leave. Here, that shared ground lets people browse and organise a library while agents collect references, keep provenance and read the owner's feedback.
Vampire is the separate Mac and iOS library app built on the protocol. The protocol is open; the application is proprietary. Both are pre-alpha.
